At this week’s Apple event, the company announced that iOS5 would go live next Wednesday, Oct 14, and with it one of the developments we’re most excited about: Newsstand.
Newsstand will be a dedicated space on the iPad where users can manage and shop for periodicals that offer a subscription, giving publishers far greater visibility than they’ve had lost among the sea of 300,000 other little white squares. Our team has been working hard to be ready for this launch, and as of today, our clients can build and submit Newsstand-compatible versions of their apps.
We think Newsstand will be a huge boost for publishers and a great tool for users, who will now enjoy automatic downloads of the titles they’re subscribed to.
