Mag+’s own Matthew Cokeley was singled-out by GD USA as ‘One to Watch in 2012′, but the Creative Director wasn’t accustomed to being on the other end of the camera. “The photographer tried to make me change my hairstyle, because it wouldn’t fit in the frame,” said Cokeley, referring to his trademark spikey ‘do, which was later altered with the aid of Photoshop to fit into the frame.
Cokeley, a 15-year veteran of the glossy New York City publishing world has quickly become adept in his new role as evangelist in iPad publishing. His six-years tennure at Bonnier’s Popular Science provided the ideal training ground to position him among Mag+’s earliest adopters. Six-months into his new role, Cokeley has already traveled thousands miles and spoken to thousands creative colleagues. “I spend all day working on it, so you can say, I’ve become a convert.”
