ROOM Design and Lifestyle Magazine

Far too often, tablet magazines are simply exact copies of the print edition served up as static PDFs that aren’t taking full advantage of the world of interactive potential that tablets afford. Thankfully, that’s changing and ROOM Diseño is a great example. With two years of experience and six printed editions, they are now taking a step forward with the launch of a beautiful tablet version available both in English and Spanish.

The publication specializes in industrial and interior design, architecture, fashion, and art, etc. Consistent with the editorial of the paper edition, the tablet platform offers a way of addressing the content in a way that is absolutely interactive and audiovisual. The idea is to optimize the tablet’s technological possibilities in order to offer the reader a tactile, contemporary and hypermedia way of accessing the information. It uses video, slideshows, moving images, dynamic texts, audio/music, etc.

Featured in this issue and free to download here, are Japanese artist Ryoichi Kurkawa and designer Philippe Starck, among others.
