In the year 2000, Björn Jakobson, founder of the well-known company, “BabyBjörn”, was struck with the idea of creating a beautiful building for art and cultural experiences somewhere in the Stockholm archipelago. And so he did. His creation, Artipelag, is a new international venue for art, good food, events and activities – beautifully set on Värmdö in the Stockholm Archipelago, just 20 minutes from the city center.
The name Artipelag is a combination of Art, Activities, and Archipelago. It says a lot about what they can offer, but it does not tell it all. Their intention has been to create a destination of high international quality – with boundary-crossing art exhibits, inspiring activities, and good food.
With their recently published mobile app, available both for iPhone and iPad, they are inviting you to come for a visit. The app includes their digital catalogue and everything else about their unique combination of art, performing arts, fine dining and outdoor experience in the Swedish archipelago.
The mobile App issue will also let you indulge and be inspired by current exhibitions. For example famous photographer William Wegman’s exhibition, called Hello Nature – how to draw, paing, cook and find your way. Hello Nature shows Wegman’s unpretentious style and explores the inspiration behind all of Wegman’s work. The App issue contains photos, videos, audio guides and some bonus material such as Wegman’s paintings, drawings, collages, and films, a highly personal investigations of nature and its meaning in our culture.
