3 April 2012: For 75 years, Marie Claire has been synonymous with aspirational French style. This month, the first digital tablet edition of its acclaimed interiors title Marie Claire Maison launches using mag+.
Hot on the heels of the US boom, it is now expected that there will be some 106 million tablet users in the EU-7 by 2016. Smart digital publishers, like Marie Claire, and mag+ are teaming up to expand this Continental frontier with consumer magazines to inspire and engage whole new audiences.
Fredrik Edstrom, Editor at Marie Claire Group, recognises the importance of reading the customer’s pulse. “Our readers are demanding more digital content and easier ways of accessing what inspires them, and mag+ has allowed us to rise to that challenge quickly and affordably,” he says, “Our tablet editions build beautifully on what we’ve achieved in our print product – something Marie Claire’s visually astute audiences appreciate. We fully expect that offering a digital edition will bring Marie Claire to new generations of fans of great design.”
For mag+, getting Marie Claire on board is an opportunity to spread the digital publishing gospel: “Undeniably, there is a growing appetite among French readers for engaging digital content,” says mag+ CEO Staffan Ekholm. “mag+ is well positioned to meet this demand by strengthening our relationship with leading French brands like Marie Claire and other local partners.”
Providing inspiration and insight to interior design lovers, the Marie Claire Maison app for iPad, is available now in the Apple Newsstand alongside over 100 other fabulous mag+ titles including PopSci+, IKEA, and the British Journal of Photography. The interactivity and beautiful images in Marie Claire Maison make this first dedicated interiors app a testament to the quality creative work of both mag+ and Marie Claire.
